==History== Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth (DV) is an "Educational Trust" registered under the Registration of Societies Act, 1860 and under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. Named after the Saint Dnyaneshwar, it was founded by Dr. M. D. Apte in 1980 as Private engineering School located in Pune, India. Though "Vidyapeeth" means "University" in Marathi and Sanskrit, It is one of the oldest autonomous university used to conduct engineering courses〔http://www.niticentral.com/2015/06/24/vinod-tawde-degree-debate-raises-questions-governments-role-education-sector-319679.html〕 and have stopped awarding degree since 2006 after Court notice. Dr Vijay P. Bhatkar, an IT computer scientist, was vice chancellor until 2001 and former Mumbai University vice chancellor Snehalata Deshmukh was on the governing council. In 1995 Grant for MEGSAT projects approved by the Central Government for DV. In 1992 an Effectiveness in education by D.V. was appreciated in the 8th Five Year Plan of Govt. of India .
